Circomedia is delighted to be adding to Bristol’s café culture for a strictly limited time. The Church in Portland Square will undergo another chameleon-like transformation and become Bristol’s coolest café. The café will make its appearance for one week only from 6th -10th August. Offering a range of fair-trade and organic goodies the café will also feature a selection of new circus and street entertainment to amuse and delight diners.
Café at the Circus will be a continental style outdoor café hosted in the grassy area at the front of the building. As well as impromptu circus performances there will be an exhibition of work by local artists displayed on the railings. In the event of inclement weather, tables will also be available inside the building.
As well as staff from offices in Portland and Brunswick Square the café is likely to appeal to local residents and shoppers who would like some respite from the frenetic activity in Broadmead. Portland Square is a little known oasis of calm tucked away a couple of minutes walk from Broadmead. It’s one of the Britain’s best preserved Georgian squares and definitely the only one with a circus in a church!
